What is simple sentence?

Hello folks!

1. In our previous post, we have learnt about different types of sentences. Let's do a quick recap:

2. Alright! I'm pretty sure, by now, you might have understood about the three different types of sentences in English language. Now let's look at the first type of sentence - simple sentence. Before we discuss in greater details, please watch the video below, so you could understand generally the concept.




3. A simple sentence consists of an independent clause, so it contains a subject and a verb. It does NOT contain either a dependent clause or another simple sentence

4. The subject tells who or what did something. The verb tells the action (work, talk, think, etc.) or condition (is, seem, appear, etc.); for example'

           1. The dog barks.
           2. Ahmad and Adam are eating Nasi Lemak

5. In simple sentence itself, there are few patterns or structures that we could classify them as simple sentence.
